5. ELIZABETH³ HILL (CALEB FREEMAN², SLAUGHTER¹) was born 30 Nov, 1855 in Macon Co, GA, and died 13 Apr, 1915 in Ashburn, Turner Co, GA ⁹. She married (1) JAMES ARCHIBALD KENDRICK. She married (2) JAMES MONROE JESSUP 20 Dec, 1877 in Montezuma, Macon Co, GA ¹⁰.

Notes for ELIZABETH HILL:
      Elizabeth (Hill) (Jessup) Kendrick was born 13 November 1859 in Macon Co, GA. This may or may not have been on her grandfather's (SLAUGHTER HILL) plantation just north of Oglethorpe, GA near the town of Lanier, GA. She was the oldest child of Captain Caleb Freeman HILL and Martha Bryan HILL.       Her name from her first marriage certificate shows her as L.E. HILL. She married a James Monroe JESSUP, who was a doctor, also from Macon, Co GA. on 20 December 1877. The children from this marriage were: Millard Lee JESSUP and, Alma Henrietta JESSUP. Doctor JESSUP died on 19 June 1883 is burried at the Pleasant Grove Baptst Church Cemetary in Macon Co, GA. The cemetary is located at the intersections of GA Highway 127 and County Road 287.
      Elizabeth later married a James Archibald KENDRICK, (date unknown) of Macon Co, GA. Her father, Caleb HILL moved his family to Ashburn, in Turner, (then Irwin Co), during the late 1880's. She apparently followed her father there, and lived out the remainder of her life in Ashburn with Mr. KENDRICK.
      Elizabeth, (LIZZIE) KENDRICK's mother, Martha HILL, Willed her property, one house and lot, (i.e. city Lot #1, Block #45), located at the intersection of Railroad St and Jackson Avenue in Ashburn, GA. She later Willed this same property to four of her children: Leonard KENDRICK, Gordon KENDRICK, Mattie MATTHEWS, and Grace OLLIFF. She apparently died of Brights Disease, (Kidney inflamation), around 1:30 PM on 13 April 1915. She is buried in the KENDRICK family plot located at Rose Hill cemetary, east of Ashburn, GA, on GA highway 159. Her parents and children from her first marriage are also buried there.

Notes for JAMES ARCHIBALD KENDRICK:
Served in 10th Battalion, Georgia Infantry, CSA, the same unit that was commanded at the close of the Civil War by his wife's father, Capt. C.F. Hill.

Mrs. Mattie Matthews is shown as co-executor of her mother's Will, Turner Co Probate Records, dated 27 August 1914 with brother Leonard Kendrick of Decatur Co, GA. Mattie is later shown in Mrs. Alma Jessup Comer's Will, Turner Co Probate Records, dated 21 May 1948, as recepient of all her Aunt's, property and personal effects. She lived in Cairo, Grady Co, GA at the time of her Aunt's death. Mattie is buried in the KENDRICK family plot in the Rose Hill cemetary located in Ashburn, Turner Co, GA.

Notes for ROBERT LEE HILL:
Robert Lee Hill was born 28 Oct 1867 in Macon Co., GA. He was the fourth of nine children born to Caleb Freeman Hill and Martha Bryan. His father moved the family, sometime between 1888 and 1889, to the area around Ashburn, Turner Co., GA.
He married a Clyde Elba Hill on 20 Dec 1889. The only record substantiating this date , is from the family bible owned by his son, (named after his father), Caleb Freeman Hill, of Moultrie, GA. Turner Co, GA at this time was partially in Worth and Irwin Counties. Clyde, or Gransen Hill as she was called by her grandchildren, was the daughter of a Gilbert and Mary Hill, also of Macon Co., GA.
Robert is shown on the 1910 Census as living in the town of Sycamore about a mile south of Ashburn in Turner Co, GA. His family members a listed as Versa Mae, Ruby, Warren L., Fanny C., Louis H., Caleb F., and Hazel C..
Around 1916, Robert and his family moved south to Pavo in Thomas Co, GA. Records indicate he was a successful farmer in the local area up till the time of his death on 28 Apr 1941.
