Funeral for Carolyn Hufhines, 63, of Boyd was Monday, Nov. 3, at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Steve Weeks officiated and burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Hufhines died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, in Fort Worth. Born Aug. 25, 1940, in Decatur to James Daniel and Walcie Jones Jobe, she married James “J.B.” Hufhines on July 10, 1956. She was retired from Corning Cable Company where she worked as a telephone assembler. She had lived in the Boyd area since 1975 and was a Baptist, an active bowler for more than 40 years and a member of the Crowley Moose Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and a sister, Sylvia Johnson. She is survived by a son, James Hufhines of Fort Worth; three daughters, Becky Vess and husband Jerry, Shirley McConnell and husband, Clay, and Sandy Worley and husband, Jeff, all of Boyd; one brother, Kenneth “Cowboy” Jobe and wife, Frankie, of Eagle Lake; one sister, Jody Clement, and husband, Johnny, of Crowley and six grandchildren, Jerry, Amy, Jake, Kyle, Jonathan and Tiffany. Pallbearers were Mica Clements, Robbie Clements, Claude Scally, Randy Splawn, Jimmy Waters and Gary Splawn.
