Notes for H
ANS PAULUS (HEIM) HIMES, SR, 18-4:
12-26-2001 Tina from SeekinFamily@aol.com from the Heim-L@rootsweb.com was trying to find info on this family.
Gen 1. Hans Paulus Heims b. bef. 1672 and unknown wife
Gen 2. Anna Marie Heims b. bef. 1687 in Palatinate, Germany d. Sept 1743 or 1741 in PA, ? Twp, Philadelphia County married Jeremias Hess b. abt 1664 in Mutterstadt, Palantine, Germany d. 1743 in ?? PA, ? Twp, Philadelphia Cty.

2-25-2002 Marguerite Crist Calvin (cristcalvin @ohiohills.com) wrote that she was researching Wilhelm Heim who arrived on the Ship "Thistle of Glasgow in 1730" with Philip Groscost and wife, Anna Margaretha Heim, probably sister to Wilhelm. Hans Paulus (Paul) Heim was in Ireland with the 1709 group, he returned to Germany 1711, came to America 1727. All were from Mutterstadt, Germany (SW -Mannheim)
(see 4-10-2002 notes below which states the same thing about Paul being in Ireland)

3-3-02 Marguerite Crist Calvin (cristcalvin @ohiohills.com) sent another email with information that Wilhelm Heim was born May 10, 1715 (wrong). (As of 4-10-2002, Stewart Hinds who can read German translated the ships list mainly in German, and this date is not the birthdate of Wilhelm Heim but it is the birthdate of Wilhelm Heim's nephew Wilhelm Groscost who was born May 10, 1715) The page will be put with Wilhelm Heim's family page. There was more information but mostly in German which Dottie could not decipher so I have sent an email back to her to get it in English. (April 2002 Stewart Hinds translated the German Ship List).
It listed a Charles A. Groscost, and Kinder, zu Mutterstadt, geboren: may mean kin born in Mutterstadt
(Charles A. Groscost and children were born in Mutterstadt, and Charles is most likely the father of Philip Groscost)
Children of Philip Groscost and Anna Margaretha Heim:
1) Wilhelm Groscost b. 10-5-1715 (May 10, 1715) Paten Wilhelm Heim, ledig(unmarried) und Anna Margareta Reisinger, ledig(unmarried). (The sponsors Wilhelm Heim and Anna Margaretha Reisinger are probably the parents of Anna Margaretha Heim who m. Phlip Groscost. We already knew that Wilhelm Heim b. abt 1650 had a daughter named Anna Margaretha Heim)
2) Christoph Groscost (Christopher) b 15-2-1717 (Feb 15, 1717) Mutterstadt 15-2-1735 mit Johanna Steiger T. D. Schultheissen zu Mutterstadt Johann Theobald Steiger. Bei Der Vater Burger in Pennsylvanien ist.
(Christopher Groscost m. Johnanna Steiger, dau of Johann Theobald Steiger and T.D. Schultheissen may be the Minister)
3) Anna Elizabeth Groscost 19-3-1719 (b. Mar 19, 1719)
4) Philip Daniel Groscost 8-11-1721 (b. Nov 8, 1721) Paten: Philip Daniel Saar und dessen Frau Elixabetha
It also said that Wilhelm Heim was a brother to Ann Margaretha Heim and Hans Paul Heim Jr.
It said that Ann Margaretha Heim was wife of Philip Groscost
It said that Wilhelm Heim unmarried and Anna Margaretha Reisinger, unmarried were on the ship in 1727.
It mentions also on the Ship: Charles A. Groscost, emigrating to America,
Question, is Charles Groscost the father of Philip Groscost married to Anna Margaretha Heim

3-5-2002 Dottie Porter Himes received email from Polly A. Laubach-Eckrote (pale@epix.net) with 6 Generations of Heim/Hess family, beginning with
Gen. 1 Unknown Mr. Heim b. 1651 and unknown wife,
Gen. 2 Hans Paulus Heim Sr. b 1670 and wife unknown
Gen 3. Anna Maria Heim b 1687-1743 who m. Jeremias or Jeremiah 1st Hess, 1664-1743
Gen 4. thru Gen. 6 are the Hess descendants which will be posted.
This Page will go in the front of the Himes Reference book to connect with the other Heim/Himes

4-10-2002 Stewart Hinds helped translate the ship record written in German.
He wrote that there is a book titled Pennsylvania Emigrants, Early Pioneers from Mutterstadt in the Palatinate by Annette K. Burger or Burgert? He said that the book shows that Wilhelm Heim's wife's name is Judith. He said that Wilhelm Heim had a brother Hans Paulus (Paul) Heim Jr. who lived in Ireland for a time, returned to Germany, and then went to Pennsylvania. The book states that Hans Paul Heim Jr buried several children who died in Ireland.

4-10-2002 email from Stewart Hinds that says that Hans Paulus Heim Jr. was born 10-7-1712 and arrived at Philadelphia on the Ship, James Goodwill on Sept 27, 1727. Maybe Hans Paulus Heim Jr. suggested to his brother Wilhelm and his sister Anna Margaretha Heim Groscost and husband Philip Groscost about coming to PA as they migrated and arrived Sept 1730)

4-12-2002 According to the email above and another email, the Hans Paulus Heim, Sr. is the father of Wilhelm and Hans Paulus Heim Jr, is the brother of Wilhelm Heim and Anna Margaretha Heim. As Hans Paulus Heim Sr. mentioned in two emails was born 1670, and his daughter Anna was b 1687-1743.

8-20-2002 Dottie found on Ancestry World the Jeffrey W. Hess Family Tree by JeffHess@softhome.net
which has Hans Paulus Heim Sr married to unknown, but the father of Hans Paul Heim Jr. and wife, Anna Mabel Volcker, Wilhelm Heim and wife, Judith?, Anna Margarathes Heim and Philip Groscost and Anna Maria Heim and Jeremiah Hess. Thus the father of Wilhelm is Hans Pauls Heim Sr.

1-19-2003 Douglas Weaver, dataminer@attbi.com at Ancestry.com has that Hans Paulus Heim was b. 1672 (other info says 1670)

2-18-2003 Dottie Porter Himes heard from Ellen (Foerster) Schultz
