Notes for Alice Mae Ahlers, 1-5: Alice Ahlers was known by all as a very sweet woman and liked by everyone. She liked to paint, crochet and made lots of beautiful things. She came down with cancer fall of 1958. She died young at age 52. Her older son, John, was in the Marines in CA when he was notified she was dying. By the time he flew home, she had died, on May 1, 1959, which was also her 22nd Wedding Anniversary. Her other son, Steve, was only 12 years.
10-1975: Sharon Himes wrote a letter Oct. 1975 to Montgomery County Health District, Dayton, OH and ordered a birth certificate for Alice Ahlers. Reply on letter said that Alice Ahlers father was born in Germany and he was 44 at the time of her birth, Her mother was born in Dayton, OH and she was 35 at the time of Alice's birth. Her birth certificate showed that Alice Mae Ahlers parents were August Henry D. (Detrick) Ahlers, age 44, born in Germany and was a cigar maker. Her mother was Rosella Moehring, 35 years old, born in Dayton, OH, Certificate is dated 3-29-1979.
