June 16, 2000: Lisa Hoffman sent on internet to Dottie Himes her email address: Hoffman793@aol.com She sent information about two books about Centerville, OH Book: A SENSE OF COMMUNITY Daniel Himes -no mention Book: A SENSE OF PLACE Burial Mounds and ceremonial earthen structures captured the attention and imagination of township inhabitants starting with the early settlers. Four mounds were recorded by William C. Mills as late as 1914...the exploration of two mounds in 1884, The HIMES MOUND BY Binkley, but located on the farm of Daniel Himes still stands in a wooded area about one mile northwest of Centerville, OH.

page 67 Row 8 #8 is a Daniel with his sister, Rachel and parents Samuel and Elizabeth born 5-12-1814 and died Jan 28, 1885 these are the same dates for his sister Rachel I DID NOT POST THIS INFORMATION BUT WILL KEEP CHECKING AS I THINK THIS IS THE SAME DANIEL THAT DIED 9-27-1886??
8-28-2001 We have a copy of the marriage writeup of Daniel Himes to Harriet Popenoe and they married on Feb. 17, 1857. It said that Daniel was from Bloomington, IL (not sure about this, will check) and she was from Montgomery Co. OH
