In 1960 after John and Dottie were married, they went to the funeral home with John's father, John Wendell Himes Sr. (born Nov. 1905) to see JOHN W. Dottie Porter Himes was in the wedding of Carol and Taylor Cardwell and attended a wedding rehearsal dinner and John Wendell Himes Jr.'s Aunt, Irene Himes Curts, helped with the dinner. Christmas 1959, when John Wendell Himes Jr. was taking his fiancee, Dottie Porter, around to meet his Aunts and Uncles, Irene recognized Dottie Porter as being in Carol and Taylor's wedding.
