PFEIFFER, a highly educated, public-spirited German, Practicing Physician, a graduate of the UNIVERSITY OF BERLIN, and a soldier under Korner? against "NAPOLEON" &__? Him die. Charles Francis Himes entered Dickinson College the Spring term 1853 (for the sophomore class) and was graduated in 1855, Graduated Fourth in his class. He taught in the following towns: Wayne Co, PA; Illinois 1856; Near St. Joseph, MO in 1857; Chester Co, PA 1859; Baltimore Fem? College 1860; Troy University, New York 1860-1863-Prof. Matto?; He attended college in Germany 1863 to 1865 -mostly at Giessen University, where he was matriculated as a student of Chemistry and Physics. He was at Dickinson College 1865-1896 Chemistry and Physics. Mary Elizabeth (Murray) Himes was born in Dillsburg, York Co., PA, whilst her father Rev. Joseph A. Murray was in charge of Monaghon Presbyterian Church at that place, February 11, 1848. Charles Francis Himes and Mary Elizabeth (Murray) married January 2, 1868. They traveled in Europe 1872, 1883, and 1890. Mary graduated at Marry? Institute, Carlisle, PA in 1866. She died at Owaneco, IL on her way home from St. Louis Exposition during a visit to her daughter, Mrs. George V. Metzel (Anna Magdalen Himes), after an illness of about two weeks of pneumonia, December 3, 1904. Buried at Ashland Cemetery,Carlisle, PA. 1. MARY MURRAY HIMES b.
