Wilburn Hale (b. January 09, 1840, d. December 31, 1922)

Wilburn Hale (son of Henry D. Hale and Betsy Ruth Franklin) was born January 09, 1840 in Russell Co, Virginia, and died December 31, 1922. He married (1) Elander Artrip on December 19, 1860 in Russell Co , Va., daughter of William Artrip and Mary Pop Sutherland. He married (2) Surrilda Turner on October 23, 1866 in Russell Co , Va., daughter of Hugh Turner and Elizabeth Evans. He married (3) Sarah Anderson on October 27, 1885 in Russell Co , Va., daughter of Samuel Anderson and Elizabeth Anderson. He married (4) Leah Margaret Boyd on August 30, 1894 in Russell Co , Va..

Notes for Wilburn Hale:
Wilburn applied for disability pension in Russell Co. Va. in 1908. stating he was totally disabled suffering from kidney and heart failure and an injury in the Civil war. He was a confederate soldier in the 7 th Virginia Calvary. In 1916 a doctor declared him totally blind and he was awarded a check for $180.00 for the pension year of 1916.
