Researching and compiling my many ancestral family lines has been a collaborative effort of several related family members - one doesn't do this alone and I have received LOTS of help.
Should you find the information on this page useful to you, PLEASE - before you 'copy and paste' what I have researched, I expect you to ASK ME prior using my information on your web pages and/or in your family tree files. I need to know who will be using this information as some of this IS proprietary and copyrighted information - with all that implies.
My Paternal Families: HINTON - we are 'about' to prove our 'jump across the pond' from George Hinton/Henton; Collateral families to Hinton in the US are YARNALL; BRANNER; SPOTTS/SPATZ; SISK; even Boone (though the Boone connection occurred in Kentucky, not in PA as has been suggested). I would appreciate any proof of George Hinton/Henton's parentage as well as that of Persis/Percis/Percious' family.
Especially I THANK my cousin, Ralph for ALL his help.
COBB (MARBLE and LATHROP - now we can add Barr/Bär/Bear in IND); Thank you cousins: Kathy, Carol and Jean. We continue to search for John Cobb's two siblings, George and an unknown sister.
DEMING/DEMMING/DAMON; Farra; A BIG Thank you to Phil and Mary Deming; we visited Esther (Deming) Cobb's birth place in Belmont County, Ohio in 2011. ENDERLIN/GUMBERT; Thank you Dean and HansJoerg Enderlin, Damaris, Botho and Sieglinde Jenne and to cousin David Schmidt. Also to all our family in Baden/Germany and a super Thanks to Angelica in Boetzingen, Baden. Ask about the biographical sketch of Wilhelm Enderlin and Maria Magdalena (Gumbert) Enderlin and their emmigration from Baden in 1885.
My maternal side of the family is beginning to fall into place: FLOOD; GORDON; RICH; ARNOLD; Thank you to Gail (Flood line) and all the CT volunteers who helped on these families - this has been a brick wall for many years.
RUSH; SKINNER; LYES; GIBBS; GRIST; PEACOCK. Thank you to my Cousins in the UK: Pauline in West Midlands, England and Ken in Emerald, Australia.
This web page should be considered **UNDER CONSTRUCTION** so - should you decide to use the information found here - it must be with the usual caution - VERIFY THE INFORMATION YOURSELF AND ASK BEFORE YOU COPY AND PASTE - AND ASK ME QUESTIONS ABOUT MY RESEARCH.
I have researched and compiled this information as accurately and carefully as possible - however - errors do pop up and there is always new information to be found that can, should AND WILL change what I have posted here.
Please let me know what you find so we can learn together. If you find something different from what I have here, contact me - don't just assume I have erroneous information. Maybe I do - maybe I have reasons for my posts.
I do not post online citations and sources for obvious reasons. I need you to Contact me and I am happy to share with my related family researchers.
Several research projects are ongoing for related family projects. Contact me and we can share information.
Information posted here is what I have that can be proven with a viable record and I have more that I am researching.
Contact me if you have questions or changes to be made.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Contact me if you would like a copy of these reports (I have others too):
1. I have been Searching for over 25 years for the parents of George Hinton/Henton who was living in Pennsylvania in 1717. His wife was Percis/Persis/Percius (?). The Dickinson manuscript claimed that he was the son of Captain Sir William Hinton and Elizabeth Boeve. Was he? I doubt it because of the difference in time, but they may have been his grandparents. I have sketches on each of these probably ancestors - contact me.
2. Rufus Damon/Dammon/Demming/Deming Story and his daughter, Esther Elizabeth (Deming) Cobb. Esther Elizabeth Deming was my great great grandmother. A new file

- Newspaper photo of Ida O'Brien Soderholm (111 KB)
Ida O'Brien Soderholm was the niece of George W. Hinton. This photo was printed in the LAKE CITY TIMES, reprinted from the Denver Post, Thursday, April 15, 1909, page 2.
LAKE CITY HAS ONLY WOMAN ALDERMAN IN THE UNITED STATES.
Under the above heading, accompanied by a picture of herself, the DENVER POST of April 9 has the following to say about our woman alderman:
"Mrs. E. W. Soderholm of Lake City is the only 'woman alderman' in the United States. She was elected a member of the board of aldermen at last Tuesday's election, receiving more votes than any one on the ticket except John F. Maurer, the nominee for mayor. She is a self-made woman in every sense of the term. She has been in the mercantile business in this city twelve years and the large trade she enjoys is proof of her popularity and business ability. Her maiden name was the unmistakably Irish one of O'Brien. She lived seven years in Clear Creek county, part of the time at Georgetown and attended school at Lawson.
The people of Lake City, who have known her all these years, do not consider the election of a woman of Mrs. Soderholm's well known ability and independence of thought and action an experiment in any sense of the word, with all her independence and push, she is in every way a very womanly woman, an optimist whose ready sympathy and advice have served as the needed tonic to many a disheartened being. Combined with these excellent qualities is the natural wit of the Irish race from which she comes."

- Hester Cobb Marble and her family (7 KB)
Hester Cobb Marble - sister of John Cobb.
- Civil War Grave Markers (45 KB)
This paper describes the Quest I have been on in the process to have Civil War Grave Markers placed on the graves of the husbands of Amanda Jane Hinton/O'Brien/La Mear. John O'Brien is buried in Saline County, Missouri and Peter La Mear is buried in Colorado.
- My search for credible evidence of Elizabeth Boeve (26 KB)
This sketch of the James Boeve family is my attempt at finding credible evidence of Elizabeth Boeve who is said to have been the daughter of James Boeve and the wife of Sir William Hinton. She is cited in the Philip Wharton Dickinson book as the mother of my immigrant ancestor, George Hinton/Henton who arrived in Pennsylvania about 1717.
