* Hiscock, Patterson, Reid Families.*

Updated July 5, 2007

I am researching the Hiscock, Reid and Patterson families. The first known appearance of George Hiscock and his wife Amanda Catherine Smith was August 24, 1841 in Port Stanley, Ontario, Canada where they were married. George Hiscock was born in 1826 and died from a decease while in the Civil War on June 23, 1864. He was buried in the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Amanda Catherine (Smith) Hiscock was born in New York in 1821. In 1870 census she was living in Burchville Township, Saint Clair County, Michigan. The Reid and Patterson families came from Dormara, Ireland in the mid 1800ís. Their ancestors included Robert Reid and his wife Elizabeth Betty Farquhar and John Reid and his wife Elizabeth Wallace. The Patterson family ancestors were Joseph Patterson and his wife Nancy Thompson.

These families came into the United States of America by way of Port Huron, Michigan and settled in North Street and Avoca Michigan.

Please check out our genealogy web site that includes articles and pictures of their descendants.

Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share information that I have.
