* The Kiniry Family Home Page*

Updated September 6, 2000

I am researching the Kiniry family. David Kiniry immigrated from County Cork, Ireland in 1860 to Philadelphia, PA. He fought for the Union Army in the Civil War with the Pennsylvania Volunteers. He married Mary Downey (Downing) in May 1867. They had 6 children, Mary, William, Julia, David, Catherine and Robert. My Grandfather was their son, David, born in 1878. He married my grandmother, Mary Torpey, on June 24, 1903.

I am also looking for members of the Muldowney Family from Philadelphia, PA. My Grandfather was Michael Muldowney married to Helen Dowd. His father was Patrick, born in 1847 in County Mayo, Ireland. He married Mary Carr in 1875 in Plainfield, NJ. His father was also Patrick, married to Mary Higgins.

Any information or connection you have to the Kiniry, Downing, Torpey, Muldowney, Higgins, Carr or Dowd families would not only be helpful but exciting!! Looking forward to hearing from you.
