Philip Balthasar Marsteller (son of Frederick Ludwig Marsteller and Anna Barbara Starck) was born January 04, 1742 in Augustus Evan Luth Chur, Trappe, Mont Co., Pa., and died January 04, 1804 in Christ Church Yard, Alexandria, VA. He married Magdalena Rice on April 22, 1766.
Notes for Philip Balthasar Marsteller: Philip died in Alexandria, Va. in 1804, buried in Christ Church, Alexandria, Va. In his journals Muhlenberg referred to Philip as Squire Marsteller. He was a lawyer and a Colonel in the Continental Army. He settled in Alexandria, Va. where he became Mayor. Philip was the only non-Mason pallbearer at the funeral of George Washington in 1799.
