I am compiling family histories for families who lived in Orient, Weston, and Danforth, Maine in the 1800s. The area was originally settled in the 1830s. Orient and Weston are located in southern Aroostook County; while Danforth is located in northern Washington County. My family connections to the area include Patrick Hodnett (1808 - 1888) and his wife Mary Lesure; and Edwin Deering (1818 - 1901) and his wife Susan Collier. Patrick came from Ireland in the 1830s. The Deerings settled in Maine in the 1600s. The area is along the New Brunswick border and many of the area families had relatives on both sides of the border. My area of study includes Fosterville and North Lake, New Brunswick.
I am seeking information about my Wisconsin connections, which include the Hodnett, Kuehn,and Seibold families of Clark County (Town of Warner and Town of Longwood), and the Scheid and Kuehn families of Fond du Lac (Town of Ashford) and Washington (Town of Wayne) Counties. I also have some connections to Columbia (Fall River and Town of Fountain Prairie), Dodge (Mayville), and Waupaca Counties in Wisconsin.
My ancestors came to the United States from Ireland (Ballyduff, Dublin and other areas); England (Dartmouth); and Germany (Burgheim, Eichloch and others) and Pomerania (Megow, Pyritz, and others).
