Married in 1768, Ridgefield, CT to Susann LOCKWOOD. TURRENTINE Nearly all persons in US with this last name come from a farm near Hillsboro, NC. (Durham) White Ts are descendants of brothers Samuel & Alexander who came to PA in 1745 as indentured servants. Black Ts are descendants of former slaves who took the name & some purchased the old farm land which was lost/sold at Civil War. There is a joint cemetery on the property. Well maintained by Kermit T who lives locally and assists visitors. Two T family associations one in Durham (started by Black Ts) headed by Mike T. in Durham. Many Americans (to include Canadians) with this unsuual surname are descendants of John Solomon Teetzel. He came to NJ from Germany in 1790, allegedly to avoid being forced into the priesthood.
