John Barber Ablard (son of John Ablard and Maria Waite) was born April 21, 1816 in Horncastle, Lincolnshire, England, and died July 19, 1903 in Ottawa Co, KS. He married (1) Eliza Graves on April 11, 1844 in Hemingby Church, Horncastle, Lincs.. He married (2) Eliza Graves on April 11, 1844.
Notes for John Barber Ablard: John B Ablard was shoemaker by trade, and it is believed he worked at that trade for a time after moving to Guelph, Canada in 1852. In 1869 they moved to Kansas where he homesteaded in the Pipe Creek community in Ottawa Co. He was postmaster of that community until the RFD system was instituted in 1902-03. He died of cancer of the face.
