Notes for John Ablard: John Ablard's occupation on his sons' birth certificates is given as "druggist." This corresponds to Eliza Ablard Walmsley's account of her grandfather as an apothecary. His occupation was given as shoemaker when his daughter, Ann, was married in 1846. On his death certificate, his occupation is given as "cordwainer." Cause of death is given as "paronychia." He died nine days after his wife. He and his wife may have ben living with the Dennis' at the time of their deaths since the death records show Andrew Dennis was present when Maria died and John Dennis was present when John died. He died testate, leaving an estate of less than 100 pounds to "invest for the maintenance for life" of his son Joseph, and after the death of Joseph to be divided equally between the other 3 children.
