THE HOGLEN FAMILY TREEThe Hoglen family did not come from the mountains of NC as many think they do. This is totally wrong. They settled there after arriving from the Netherlands (Dutch), via Norway, Sweden, Pa, NJ, and Va. I have traced the Hoglen name back to 1632 where it was spelled Von Hooglandt. I have spent 14 years of research into the Hoglen history. I have the ONLY true and authenticated history of the Hoglen family. Most researchers have falsified and / or copied other non-factual historical statements (i.e., Wm Kimsey Hoglan was adopted by his father. He was never adopted by his father, he was accepted by AJ Hoglan as a member of the family (never adopted) AJ was his real father and he was indeed born out of wedlock to Sarah Haynes who died at age 15. Other names researched are: Davis, Worley, Messer, parham,Haynes, Walker, Best, Crawford, and McCracken. Let me give you the true story. I always welcome inquiries and new information on those I have missed. There are many colorful tales, religious, escapes, military, lawmen, adventure, scholars, beauty pagent winners. One example is one Hoglen tried to be the first in flight by using eagle feathers sewn onto his clothing, ran across the top of a barn, leaped into the air, flew almost 45 ft to the ground, breaking numerous bones on his first attempt. Yes, I said FIRST ATTEMPT. If you are serious, and really want to know, contact me at If you want info from me about a certain relative, give as much facts as you have on that person. The more info you provide the easier it is for me to give you the right info. So, let's cut down on all this false genealogy on the Hoglen family.
