Currently I am searching for localities in Europe to further my research on ISIDORE and MAGDALENA (Schenk) FREY. Family stories relate they lived in Alsace-Lorraine but names of towns have not survived. In 1826 they were in Strasbourg where she died between that date and 1830 when he took his eight children to St. Louis, Missouri where he died by November 1830. This is a fascinating story and I have lots of documents on these children: Magdalena, Mary Ann, Marguerite, Valentine, Joseph, John, Susanna, and Christian. Other surnames found in this family are ENGLISH, McHOSE, vonARX, LENDI, HOGAN, QUICK, MARTIN, FREDERICHS, FOULKS, LIGGETT and LeBEAU.Additional surnames in my research include BROOKS and TUCKER primarily in Iron, Wayne, Reynolds, and Dent counties in south-eastern Missouri. The BAILEY and LEONARD were families who originated in Massachusetts/New York areas and migrated to Missouri with the connecting family of JEFFERSON from Virginia who also settled in Boonville and St. Louis. I would like to hear from any descendants of these families, and am willing to share my information.
