This site is dedicated to the family of Mathew and Mary (Fogarty) Hogan. These two arrived in New York City from Ireland in early 1865. They were married at Mount St. Vincent Chapel, in Yonkers, NY in late March or early April of the same year and then left for Wisconsin. Mathew and Mary viewed the Lincoln funeral train on their journey. They arrived in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and eventually settled in Green Bay. Although I know this much about them there are still questions that need answers. Mount St. Vincent College claims there never was a chapel and they have no marriage records. Without that information I haven't been able to trace their origins in Ireland. My guess is they came from the County Tipperary which is where most Hogans came from. My main purpose in creating this home page is to locate someone who can help in my search for their Irish roots. I'll continue to add information as I find it. Please feel free to contact me with anything that might help. Thank you!
