In 1997 looked & found birth sister, we talked by telephone Mother's Day week-end 1997 for first time. Flew to Texas in 1997 and met my sister Doris & her family for the first time after 56 years. Mustered 8/5/1861 at Camp Sneed, Knoxville, TN 8/21/1861 at age 15 & served 17 months. Record states slightly wounded Stones River/Battle of Murfreesboro) no trace since, from Franklin Co. TN. ROGERS - James M. (b 1825?) Joined W. J. Awalt's Co. 11/7/1862 Ridgeville/TN in Civil War. Conf prisoner Camp Chase/OH. Where he died/buried? George Fletcher Rogers (b 6/6/1830 d 5/13/1909 enlisted Civil War in Winchester/TN 5/1/1861; enlisted Ridgeville/TN 11/7/1862 served Co. K 17th Tenn Inf Regt, Co. D 23rd Batt. Tenn Inf, Co. D 45th Tenn Inf, captured February 1864, wounded Battle Chickamauga. From Franklin Co/TN. His father was Spencer Rogers (b 1780 d 1845/1846?).
