John Anderson Holt (son of Joseph Harvey Holt and Elizabeth Ann White)806 was born June 18, 1849 in Forsyth Co., Georgia, and died January 22, 1912 in Linn Co., Oregon. He married (1) Americus Ann on 1868 in Multana Springs, Mississippi807. He married (2) Martha Leech on 1885 in Harrisburg, Lane Co., Oregon.

John Anderson Holt was a member of the Grand Jury of the Danville Circuit Court in Yell Co., Arkansas in 1880. John Anderson Holt and his family traveled to Oregon in about 1882-1883 with his sister Mary Ann Holt, her husband Nathan Holland & son William Holland. Johns wife Americus and his son Thomas died while on this trip. Johns Daughter Adella Jane Holt was adopted in 1882-1883 by E.E. Upmeyer in Harrisburg, Oregon and her name was changed to Dena Adella Upmeyer. John Anderson Holt remarried in Harrisburg, Oregon and had more children, John Anerson Holt was a 32nd Degree Mason. John Anderson Holt, on Sept. 7, 1880, signed an Affidavit in the Yell County, Arkansas County Clerks Office that he is a proxy for W.W. Fullilove who on that day applied for a marriage license for W.W. Fullilove, age 70, and Mrs. Elizabeth Holt, age 60, who on that day were single and unmarried and could lawfully contract and be joined in marriage. Mrs. Elizabeth Holt was John Anderson Holts mother. W.W. Fullilove apparently could not write, and signed his name with an "X". W.W. Fullilove and Mrs. Elizabeth Holt were married by M.B. Havner on Sept. 7, 1880.
