****** Information from my first book "Three Brides for Three Brothers - Colbert and Cunningham Family" ******
The primary purpose of this Web Site, "Three Brides for Three Brothers" is to trace the ancestors and/or descendants of the Cunningham and Colbert families. The three Cunningham brothers that married the three Colbert sisters were:
William Roe Cunningham married Elizabeth Ellen Colbert in March 1842
Thomas Bennett Cunningham married Virginia Colbert on December 24, 1842
James E. Cunningham married Rosina Colbert on April 27, 1848

The Colbert Sister's Parents
The Colbert sister's parents were William Colbert and Mary Guy. They were married on December 26, 1816 in Hampton, Elizabeth City County, Virginia. William and Mary Colbert had five daughters and three sons.
William Colbert was born March 16, 1792 and died March 22, 1841 in Hampton, Elizabeth City County, Virginia.
Mary Guy was born November 1st, 1802 in Accomack County, Virginia and died April 1st, 1844 in Hampton, Elizabeth City County, Virginia. Mary’s parents were John Guy and Miss Scarborough.
Sorry to say but the Colbert family is a brick wall and William Colbert's ancestors will not be covered in this book.
The Cunningham Brother' s Ancestors
The Cunningham brother's parents were John Cunningham and Ann Bennett. They were married on August 22, 1799 in Hampton, Elizabeth City County, Virginia. John and Ann Cunningham had four daughters and six sons.
John Cunningham was born about1780 in Virginia and died before 1850 in Hampton, Elizabeth City County, Virginia.
Ann Bennett was born about1780 in Virginia and died December 20, 1833 in Hampton, Elizabeth City County, Virginia.
The Cunningham brother's ancestors will be covered in Chapter 1.

Note from the Author:
I plan on creating at less two more web sites on the Cunningham Family and their connection to the Mossom and Barron Families.
1. "Kissing Cousins - The Cunninghams and Mossoms"
This one will be based on the Cunningham brother's grandfather William Roe Cunningham that married Nelly Mossom were married around 1772 in Virginia. Nelly Mossom's grandfather was Rev. David Mossom. He married George Washington and Martha Dandridge Custis.
2. "In Love and War - The Cunninghams and Barrons"
This one will be based on the Cunningham brother's great grandparents, Captain William Cunningham and Susanna Roe. I believe Captain William Cunningham is the same William Cunningham shown married to Mary Roe and the son of the William Cunningham in the book, "Some Webster County, Kentucky Families" written by Minerva Bone Bassett. I also believe that two of William Cunningham brothers James and John also referenced in the book, Some Webster County, Kentucky Families" written by Minerva Bone Bassett were the two Cunningham brothers that married the two Barron sisters.
