Notes for Palina Ann Powell: The 1900 census of the Oklahoma Chickasaw Nation as county, shows her as a widow Twp 1 N R 7 E with her following grandchildren living with her: John E Perkins age 19 born Aug 1880 in Texas; his sister Bettie born Oct. 1883 in Arkansas; Oscar Jennings age 7 born Oct. 1892 in Texas and Ellis Jennings age 5 born June 1894 in Texas. This correlates with a grave on a Martin Dyer in the Easthill Cemetery in Roff, Okla. near Ada, Oklahoma and the fact that Dock Dyer married his first wife in the town of Roff. Palina was married first to John Richard Dyer and after his death during the Civil War she then married his youngest brother, Martin V. Dyer. She said children by both John Richard and by Martin. I am unsure at this time of the exact time of Palina's death but in the 1910 census the youngest of the 4 grandchildren are with their aunt and uncle, Louis and Belle Cooper in Ada, Oklahoma. However other family relations state that they were told that she died in 1920 at Liberty, Oklahoma.
A great-grandson of Ben Dyer has in his possession a picture of Palina. I have asked them to send me a copy. A copy of that picture is now included in this family tree. She confirmed (Barbara Carter) that the grave in Roff, Oklahoma is our Martin Dyer.
