Are you related to the Holdcroft's of Weeford of Hints Staffordshire. My ancestors came from this area and were Blacksmiths at Weeford from 1823 - 1901. The first record of the family is at Hints in 18 September 1767 which was the marriage of John Holdcroft to Mary Dorkins. They had several children but by 1800 the fell of hard times claim poor law to pay for the rent. Later generations spread out across South Staffordshire. Namely Chasetown, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, and Barton under Needwood. If you are related or know anything about the family please contact me.
