Hart and Edwards Roots

I am Michele Deanna Hart (Golding) Holmes.

My father, Noah Edwin Hart (1940-1982) is from Appling County, GA. His Hart forefathers were Lacy Hart (1918-2003); Jim Hart (1882-1961) and Lilla Jane (Mattie) Little Hart (1885-1968); Seaborn Madison Hart (1850-1905) and Rebecca Ann Davis Hart (1851-1896); Hardy Hart (1802-1882) and Milly Malone Stokes Hart (1815-1882); Marmaduke Hart (1780-1851) and Mourning Collum Hart (1783-1867). They all resided in Appling, Bleckley, Pulaski or Twiggs Co. GA, and originated from Edgefield Co., SC. There were also Jones Little (b. 1859) and Elizabeth Davis (b. 1861); Zachariah Davis (b. 1815) and Elizabeth King (b. 1824); Tom and Matilda King.


Noah's mother's family were Rentz's. They were Ora Lee Rentz (1924- ); Wildon Cornelius Rentz (1898-1952) and Myrtice Mattie Herndon (1909-1999); Mathew Rentz (1870-1946) and Martha Googe Rentz (1873-1938) from Appling Co. GA and Hampton Co. SC. Myrtice Herndon Rentz's parents were Phillip Theodore Herndon (1876-1957) and Betty Pricilla Tomberlin Herndon (1885-1975). Betty's parents were Dobby Tomberlin (1856-1929) and Prissila ? (1862-1922) of Appling Co., GA.


My mother, Celeste Rachel Edwards (1940- ) is from Surry County, NC. I've been able to obtain a good bit of information on both sides of her family.
The Mayes side ended with my Granny Stella May Mayes Edwards (1914-1994). Her family came from Surry Co., NC and Wilkes Co, NC.
On the Mayes side, there were George Columbus Mayes (1875-1953); John Mays (1846-1920) and Cyntha Creed Mays (1857-1927); Hardin Mays and Francis Richardson Mays; Isom Richardson; George W. Creed and Lydia Loffon Creed.
On the Hayes side, there were Cora Belle Elizabeth Hayes Mayes (1881-1962); John Hayes (1847-1913) and Mary Elizabeth McGlothren Hayes (1856-1943); George McGlothren and Betty Carpenter McGlothren; Martha O'Neal McGlothren; William Granville Hayes (1827-1914) and Sarah Blevins Hayes (1828-1900); Joseph Hayes and Mary Hayes Hayes; Andrew Z. Blevins and Charity Ann Wyatt Blevins; and the patriarch of the Hayes family, Jesse Hayes and Ann Dickerson Hayes.


The Edwards side of my tree ended with my Papa Foy Lee Edwards (1908-1991). His family came from Carroll Co., VA. His ancestors were Daniel Austin Edwards (1874-1962) and Sarah Alice Thomas Edwards (1885-1913); Joseph B. Edwards and Matilda Wilcox; John Edwards and Roan King Edwards; William Bucker Thomas and Mary Jane Boyd Thomas; Henry Thomas; James Boyd.


I've spent many hours of personal searching in courthouses and libraries, enjoying every minute. If you belong to my family, I'd love to hear from you.
