REV. BENJAMIN STRAUB married ELIZABETH (HOSS) STRAUB (1820). They had 11 children, 1 (Adam) died in infancy. REV. BENJAMIN STRAUB was called to preach and joined the Sandusky United Brethern conference. I have some records of Marriages he performed in Ohio.
BENJAMIN STRAUB is possibly the brother of ANDREW STRAUB.( See links for Diana's STRAUB web page for information on ANDREW STRAUB.

THE OTHER SIDE OF MY FAMILY; HOLMES
SMITH HOLMES (my GreatGreatGrandfather) b. 1820 in Rhode Island m NANCY MAYBEE b. 1826 in New York,. SMITH HOLMES was a mule driver hauling boats up and down the Erie canal. They had 5 children.
JAMES WATERMAN HOLMES (my GreatGrandfather) b.8-14-1840 in New York d. 2-18-1905, m. CORA JANE HOTCHKISS b. 1-5-1860 in Ohio (moved to New York) d. 7-27-1945
The other side of my family are the WELCH and CHRISMAN surnames. I have just started my search for my WELCH and CHRISMAN history.
States I know of so far are Missouri and Ohio. Linn county is the only county I have at this time.

They are both my GreatGrandFathers and to my surprise they are buried toe to toe in Forest Hill Cemetery, Village of Evart, Osceola Co., Michigan. There is about 20 men from the c.w. with a monument dedicated to them. Their names and their wives names are listed on the monument
