Notes for GEORGE W KIRKLAND:
I first found George on the 1850 Jackson co. Tn. census, they spelled it Kirklin, then on 1860 census he was on Putnam co. Tn. record by 1870 his family were in Ozark co. Richmond town,Mo census but George was already dead and only Jane and Nancy Elizabeth, Isaac Newton, Timothy,and Sara Jane were on that census. So the story goes George and a son were killed by bushwhackers, They both are buried in same grave near Bryant and North Fork River, 3 miles down from Hodgson's Mill on what was the Tillman Farm.( we know the grave is there)
