2. WILLIAM F² MCCORMACK (JOSEPH¹)³ was born 1808 in Va., and died March 19, 1869 in Lawrence co. Mo.. He married (1) RHODA TAYLOR⁴ Abt. 1829 in Jackson Co. Tn., daughter of JAMES TAYLOR and RHODA WILLIAM. She was born 1814 in Tenn., and died 1855 in Granville, Jackson co. , Tn.. He married (2) SARAH JANE MARSHALL 1859 in Tn.. She was born 1844 in N.C., and died October 25, 1910 in Monett Mo..

Notes for WILLIAM F MCCORMACK:
When a small boy he went with his Parents to middle Tn. ,the next year they migrated to Pike co. Mo. remained a year not being satisfied with the country desided to return to Tn. while traveling in Southern Mo. the father became ill and died,William buried his father and returned to Jackson Co. Tn. The trip from Missouri to Tennessee and return was very hard for a young boy as the country was unsettled and teeming with indians and wild animals. Rhoda his wife died in 1855 in Jackson County Tennessee . William re-married in 1859. to Sarah Jane Marshall and moved to Barry County Missouri .

In 1860 a son of Wm. and Sarah, born June 3 -died July 5 1860 was buried on this plot of the McCormack land located in the northeast corner of Monett city limits at the end of 14th street . Old timers in Monett remember this as the old Allen Cemetery . William is also buried there his tomb stone broken and not readable , bottom half reads 19 March 1869 age 60 years ,by a tree close by there is a concrete enclosure that has a top half of a stone that reads William, I think this is the other half of the stone of William McCormack , According to records this 1 acre of land was set aside by Joseph McCormack in May 1902, no previous records can be found between 1860-1902. In 1955 St. Johns Lutheran Church of Monett bought the land from 3 trustees, Cora Weisman, Henry Allen &Clifford Hewlett,and now called McCormack-St. Johns Cemetery.
