  Notes for Thomas Edgar Hollingsworth:
I am an electronic technician. I was born in Lynn and when I was 4 my parents moved to Richmond in a horse and wagon. I was told that the 15 mile trip took all day. I went to several schools in town and when I was 15 we moved to a farm 3 miles north of Fountain City, Indiana. It is located about 1 mile east of highway 27 on the Hopewell Road.
I graduated from Fountain City High School in 1943 and was drafted into the army in June. I served in the 282 F.A.Bn., 3rd Army, 20th Corps in Europe.. We landed in France D Day plus 60 and had continuous front line duty until the end of the war. We were on the extreme southern flank across France. After the battle of the bulge we again went south and raced across Germany to the Chek border at Ohrdruf where we helped liberate a concentration camp, I was a forward observer radio operator for the 105 MM howitzers. After returning home in 1946 I married my sweetheart, Rhoda Newsom, who blessed us with 4 lovely children. We were married at the farm of my father. It is 80 acres and the first farm east of my grandfathers" old home place " and is located east of highway 27 on Hopewell Road
In 1948 we moved to Chicago, Illinois to look for better work. I obtained a job with U.S. Rubber as an electrician helper and learned the trade.
in 1950 I went to work for Chicago Printed String as a general maintenance man and progressed to general foreman when the plant relocated to Franklin, Tennessee. When the plant changed hands I saw no future and the pay was small, I again returned to Chicago and went to work for Signode Corporation as an electrician and electronic tech.
In 1969 I was transferred to their new plant in Florence, Ky where I stayed until my retirement. After a couple of years I decided to return to work part time for Tente Casters ( hospital bed wheels ) as the general maintenance man. Being a small company I enjoyed the work very much,
My hobbies are fishing, computers, gardening and traveling. We have a time share condo in South Palm Beach, Florida which we go to with one of our children's families every year.
Over the years we have traveled extensively across the U.S. parts of Canada, Mexico, Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas.
My new hobby is trying to get our family history together before I die. It is very time consuming but a labor of love. My only concern is that someone in the the future will continue it for their decedents.
Jan 1987 I had a Quadruple heart bypass. It was a success.
