The Family History of Carol Applin and Peter HomewoodUpdated January 24, 2010 |
I am tracing the history of the Sandals and Beeching family from Lewes, East Sussex, England. My Sandals family centres around George Sandals born 1816 Lewes, Sussex and his wife Susannah Wells born 1817 Lewes, Sussex. They had nine children. They ran the Sandals Grocers shop in the High Street, Lewes from the 1860's to the 1890's. My Beeching family also from Lewes, Sussex centres around Frederick Beeching born 1808 Lewes, Sussex and his wife Mary Bird. Frederick had two children by his first marriage to Ann Hilder then six more children with his second wife Mary Bird. Frederick was a firework maker and a master baker. He was very involved with the Commercial Square Bonfire Society and was possibly one of the founders. Frederick's father Joel Beeching came from Cranbrook in Kent. My Applin family originated from Winterbourne Whitechurch,Dorset. My husband's Homewood family are from Brighton and Plumpton, Sussex. Also researching my husband's Green and Mitchell family also from Brighton. Researching the Jenner's from Lewes who were also involved with the Commercial Square Bonfire Society and would love any information regarding this family. We would love to hear from anyone who is related to any of the families listed on our homepage so please email us!
