 Includes NotesNotes for Homer Blake:
Obit from Optic Newspaper 7/4/1919:

"Late last Sunday afternoon, Homer Blake met his death in a tragic manner, just in the edge of the town of Winfield. He was riding in a car with Oscar Redfearn, OS Thornton, and another party; Redfearn was driving at a furious speed while Homer was in the back seat. They were about to run into the car of Jess Holloway at the corner and in trying to avoid each other, both drivers overturned their cars. Neither Holloway or his wife were injured. Homer was thrown from the vehicle into a barbed wire fence and received a cut in the neck which severed his jugular vein and before medical aid could be had, he died. The funeral services were held at Gray Rock Cemetary monday afternnon, Elder McLung of Winfield in charge. Homer was the son of the late Judge B.I. Blake, and lived at Gray Rock all his life; never having married, he was the head of the household after his father passed away and a more devoted son and brother never lived."
