Wuthrich, Vaughan Families Home Page

Updated January 28, 2001

I'm starting research on my maternal family tree (Wuthrich, immigrated from Switzerland to Detroit in the late 1920s) and also on my paternal ancestors (Vaughan, from Kentucky and Corbin, from Indiana).

My grandparents, Jacob and Frieda Wuthrich (nee Rychener) were born in canton Bern. Jacob was born in April 18, 1901 in Aarwaange and Frieda was born Kleinditwil on September 26, 1900. They moved to Michigan in approximately 1928, where they remained for the rest of their lives.

They had four children; Ruth, John, Ann Marie, and Thomas.
Jacob died in 1968 and Frieda died in 1996. Their youngest child, Thomas, is the well known cartoonist "Swiss", who was once a great Trivial Pursuit champion.

Descendants of James Vaughan of Rhode Island (later Vermont?) in the 1780s.

My grandparents were Eva Pearl Corbin, b. 7/7/1907 in Greene County, Indiana and William Earl Vaughan, b. 7/1/1899 in Kentucky. They married around 1928 and lived in the Detroit area (Royal Oak, Michigan) until their deaths.
