Notes for Jonas Hoover:
Jonas and his brother Jacob were the only children of Andrew and Margaret that did not move on to Ohio at the turn of the century. There is a family story that he was beaten and left for dead during the Revolutionary War. He remained by the Unwharrie until his death.Jonas was a member of the Society of Friends.In 1786 he purchased 250 acres of land and an additional 50 acres in 1793.

Last Will and Testament of Jonas Hoover:
I, Jonas Hoover of Randolph and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and testament in manner of following:
First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rachel Hoover five cows and two calves, two__ __ __ and __ pigs, five hogs __ __ __ in the house and kitchen furniture and one __.
2. I give unto my son John Hoover one dollar
3. I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Waymire one dollar
4. I give unto my son Andrew Hoover one dollar
5. I give unto my son DAVID HOOVER one dollar
6. I give unto my daughter Hannah Hardister one dollar(Rebecca)
7. I give unto my daughter Nancy Mills twenty dollars to make her equal with the rest of my children.
8. I give unto my daughter Rachel Davis one dollar
9. and lastly I give unto my daughter Mary Warren one dollar.
And hereby appoint my friend Michael Rush and my son David Hoover Executors of this last will and testament in testimony where of I have thereunto set my hand and seal. This day of August of 1828
