Linford Finis Blowers (son of Norman Blowers and Sarah Martin) was born 1891 in Farm just north and west of Athens , Michigan, and died 1949 in Farm at Alamo, Michigan. He married Hester Adele Delebaugh.
Notes for Linford Finis Blowers: He was a farmer who lived about two miles south west of Alamo, Michigan. Happy, easy going person who played the Banjo and Guitar. When I was a kid, I idolized him and often stayed at his farm. It was a small three room, unpainted house with and unfinished attic that I slept in. He had no running water and nor electricity. The house was heated with a round oak wood stove that sat in the center of the living room. I used to lay on the floor after we were through milking the cows, had eaten supper and lighted the kerosene lamps, while he would play the guitar and sing. I liked being on the farm...enjoyed the work and just being with grandpa. I was pretty young..9 or 10 and he taught me how to milk cows, make hay, drive the team of horses. How to plow and to do the 100 and 1 other things people used to do on small farms....40 acres and 15 or so cows plus two horses'"..Babe" and I don`t remember the name of the other one. It was the mid thirties and we were dirt poor, but as a kid, it did`t matter...all kids were poor and so you didn`t even realize that you would now be considered "deprived". Everybody stayed home and had close relationships and enjoyed life as much or more than kids of today. I really believe that! Duane Hooker
