* James W. Hook Family Page*

Updated July 5, 2003

I am researching the Hook Family, James Derling Hook born C.1825
left Maine around 1841 and shows up first in 1860 census in San
Bernardino California. His Mother's name was Sarah, his father made grinding stones in Maine. Both his parents were born in New
Hampshire. He had at least one brother and one sister. He may have been involved in a sawmill at Lake Arrowhead north of San Bernardino along with a John Hook. He Married Rebecca (Johnson)
Garner/Fowler around 1865 and they moved to San Diego County.
My search is prior to 1860 I would appreciate any help.

I am also researching Webb,Derrick,Johnson,Robertson and Fry
where these names tie into each other. I have some information which I am willing to share.
