When our grandmother Elda Christine Schwake died at age 94 on May 6, 1998, my cousins and I realized we had lost the one who had kept track of us all (and loved us all, for sure). We began talking about setting up a homepage and starting a geneology project. The youngest grandchild, our intrepid Amy Schwake Thompson, volunteed to head up the project, and the oldest grandchild, Mark Douglas Hoover (me) agreed to help. So here we are. Tracking our ancestors from Rice County, Minnesota, to who knows where. Gramma, this is a tribute to you, and to you, too, Grampa Erwin Schwake. We can't thank you enough. And it's a tribute also to all the family lines that contributed to Elda and Erwin, and to all the family lines that came together to produce all our wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins. Here are some of the family names we are tracking:on Elda's side: Kuhlman, Hafemeyer, Grote, Kolling, Abolmanon; on Erwin's side: Schwake, Helberg, Meyer, Rehbeinand; on sides of the spouses of their children:Hoover, Hansen, Studer, Kent, Oscenasek. And also Gallagher, Crow, Zimmerman, Eshenfelter, Huber, Cruikshank, Stickney. If you are part of us, that's great. If you can help, that's great. |
