The Hoopers of WV/VA/MD Home Page

My family and I are researching the HOOPER family from Virginia/West Virginia/Maryland. Nick Hooper is believed to have been born around 1800 in the Rockville, Maryland area and then moved to Virginia/West Virginia. His wife, Rachel was born around 1810 but we do not know her maiden name. We believe that they had a son named John Hooper who was born around 1825. John may have been married twice, his first wife being Elizabeth, and his second wife, Mary Catherine Hurst, who was born October 20, 1851.
In addition, we are also reseaching the NORMAN family which we believe came from Fauquier Co., Virginia. We are trying to locate Clement D. Norman's father. It may have been Bailey Norman who was born in Fauquier Co., Virginia in 1775.

We are also researching the ARTHUR HICKMAN family. We know that Arthur had a son named Sotha Hickman, Sr., born June 10, 1746 in Rockville, Maryland. Sotha Hickman, Sr. was married to Elizabeth Davis. According to our records, Sotha and Elizabeth had eight children and they lived in Quiet Dell, WV.

Any information would be appreciated. We are also willing to share the information that we have.
