Updated September 6, 2000

I am researching several different branches of my family tree. I am concentrating on HOOD, DOUGLAS, JONES, PACE/NICHOLS and ZACHARY.

I am trying to find the parents of Ausburn P. HOOD, aka AP or EP HOOD, also his actual birthdate and I would like to verify his wifes name. He was born c. 1818 in Kentucky or Tennessee. He married Fanny?,who was possibly from So. Carolina around 1836. They moved to Macoupin Co.,Illinois and had 6 children. Their last and 7th child, Louis HOOD was born in Arkansas. Ausburn HOOD died September 1895 in Oklahoma, what was then Indian Territory.

I am also trying to find the parents of Richard Houston DOUGLAS. He was born October 06, 1861 in Alabama, he died October 01, 1910 in Oklahoma. Richard H. DOUGLAS m. Effie Modine POSEY about 1890 in Alabama. Effie POSEY was born April 18, 1875 in Alabama, she died in 1916 in Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Seabram and Barbara POSEY. Richard and Effie DOUGLAS had 6 children, George Benjamin, Rebecca B., Garvey Cortez, Rita Adeline, Neppie Corthley, and Richard Huston. All the children were born in Oklahoma. They left Alabama immediately after their marriage and I have no information on the DOUGLAS family that was left in Alabama.

I am looking for information on JONES, Oliver. He was born about 1780 in Pennsylvania, I believe. He married Margaret around 1805 in Penn or Ohio. They had 11 children. Oliver JONES died between 1830 and 1839, probably in Arkansas as Margaret and some of the children were there until 1840. They then moved to Texas, where Margaret is listed as Head of Household on Red River Co., Texas 1840 census.

Desperately looking for information on Elizabeth PACE NICHOLS and her husband. She is possibly the grandaughter of Twitty PACE of Arkansas. I believe she was born c. 1860 in Arkansas. She married ? NICHOLS c. 1876. They had 5 children. Dolly Mae and Doc NICHOLS were twins born February 14, 1878. There were 3 other sons, Grayson, Charlie V. and George NICHOLS. Sometime after her last son was born, she married again, I am assuming NICHOLS died, her second husbands name was Pole ADAMS. They lived in the Panama Shady Point area of Oklahoma, what was then Indian Territory. Elizabeth died there about 1920/1930.

On the ZACHARY side of my family I am trying to find information regarding the parents of Albert Napoleon ZACHARY. He was born November 1841 in Clarksville, Johnson Co., Arkansas, he died 1932 in Wilburton, Latimer Co., OK. I also need his first wife's name, they were married c. 1856 probably in Arkansas. They had 3 sons, Burril Westley ZACHARY b. November 12, 1860 in Harrison, Boone Co., Arkansas, John Ward ZACHARY b. July 08, 1864 in Arkansas, and William Columbus ZACHARY b. May 10, 1865 in Little Rock, Pulaski, Arkansas. I believe Albert Napoleon ZACHARY may be a descendant of Bartlett or Bartles ZACHARY from Arkansas.

Any information on any of the family mentioned, will be greatly appreciated. I also would be happy to share any information I may have.
