It is based on the fact that there was an Elizabeth, wife of Wily Boleware, living in Middleton's household in Mississippi in the 1850 census. To augment this fact and raise the possibility that Elizabeth was Middleton's daughter, there are connections with the Boleware and Graves family in later generations. The negative argument would be that she (Elizabeth) was not enumerated with the family in 1840. Since she did not marry Wiley Boleware until 1849 an additional assumption would have to be made that she, also, had a prior marriage. Since she was fifteen in 1840 it is within the parameters of possibility.

In 1850, Middleton Graves and wife Matilda are living in Covington County, Mississippi. Living with them are the couple, Wily and Elizabeth Boleware.
Middleton Graves and family are living in Covington County, Mississippi in July of 1860. Living with the family is his nephew Seabourn Graves and a housekeeper named Elle Horner, age sixty-three.
