I am reserching the Hood and Rumsey surnames. Trying to locate the decendants of James W Rumsey, the inventor of the steamboat. Also trying to locate the ancesters and siblings of a Thomas Hood born in VA about 1772, died in TN about 1820. His known sons were Joel O., David K., Norris Clark and daughter Lucinda. My wife is researching the Battenfield and McBride surnames. Both came to Okla. from Ark. about 1900.
