Don's retirement was from a 25 year career in the Army as a fixed-wing and helicopter pilot, also instructing in both. He loved to fish and hunt which is why he moved to Grangeville, Idaho in 1973. November 18, 1981 Don passed away at the Veteran's Hospital in Walla Walla, Washington following a lengthy illness.
