We are looking for ancestors of John Swailes from Yorkshire, Eng. m. Isabella Preston (Daughter of Nathan Preston and Isabel Cooper). John died in Quebec, June 4, 1823. We do not know what happened to Isabella. Their son Thomas m. Martine Lefebvre in Quebec and later moved to Russell County, Ont. finally settling in Simcoe County, Ont. Richard Hopper and his wife, Mary Shaddock, are also high on our list of "wanted family connectons". They were married in Devonshire, Eng. Both had lived in Hartland in that County. They moved to the Whitby/Oshawa area of Ont. about 1852 with part of their family to join two sons who had previously came to Canada. Mary's parents were Thomas and Grace Shaddock, who also lived in the Hartland area. We cannot find any trace of the parents of Richard Hopper, b. 1799, d. 1885. Mary was b. 25 Mar 1800, d. 21 Nov. 1903. We are anxious to add to the 20,000+ verified names in our knowledge base and are willing to exchange data with anyone having an interest in these families. We have over 300 family names that we have been tracing for over 10 years. Many New England names as well as Irish, German, Scottish and French.
