Max and Lois lived in Palo Alto, CA. Max graduated from Stanford University and from the School of Business Administration at Harvard College. He was with the Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco, CA for a number of years. He later became associated with his father and become acting manager of the family winery on the Lucerne Vineyard near Hanford, CA.
