I have traced my mother's family names, Dingley/ Besse to the first to arrive in 1640. Her mother's family came from Norway in the early 1890's. On my fathers side I have Ezra William Hopkins born in NY in 1824, I believe his father was Parley Hopkins. Parley is in the census for Eaton, Madison, N.Y. in 1820 and 1830. A male child appears on the 1830 census that is the right age.
