The Horstman Family Home Page

Thanks for visiting my site! I really hope we're related; not only could I use some help with my research,(I'm kind of new at genealogy)it's also exciting to discover you're related to people you've never even heard of. If some(or all!) of the names on this page sound familiar, please contact me ASAP!!! I'd love to hear from all my e x t e n d e d family! So, anyway, for the names/dates/locations. This site is mainly for my Horstman side, so I'll start with that.
My great-grandparents, Gerrit Evert and Angeline(nee Hofland) Horstman, were both born in the Netherlands around 1905. They both immigrated to Iowa as young children with their parents and many brothers and sisters. Gerrit E. Horstman's father's name was also Gerrit, and his mother's maiden name was Eva Denekamp. They were both born around 1870, and had 6 other children. Angeline Hofland's father was Jacobus Marinus Hofland(b.1874); her mother's maiden name was Grietje Bonnes(b.1884). Jacobus Marinus' father was James Hofland, and his mother's name was Katherine nee Stotdyke. Grietje(possibly Gertie, Gertrude, or Grietze)Bonnes' parents were Jan(John) Bonnes and Angeline Eerkes, both born circa 1850. Jan's parents were probably Jantje Bonnes and Fredrika Puning. Jantje Bonnes' father was probably also named Jan(John) Bonnes, and his mother's name was Elsien Jans DeJong. All the above mentioned people were born in the Netherlands, most of them in Wildervank or Deventer. Anything sounding familiar?

Aside from all the above mentioned surnames, I'm also searching out Stad, Luikaart, Goudzwaard(or Goudzward), or Velders from Michigan and the Netherlands. Reed & Hayes, which I haven't traced yet to anywhere but Michigan. Haddy & Ecker, from Michigan and Germany. Steadman(married Ann Hills) from England and Michigan. Raedelberger(Raedel,Rehdles), from Michigan and Germany. Loads of thanks to anyone who can help me, and thanks to anyone who read through at least. I'd love to hear from you even if we're not related if you have the time! Thanks again!
