My Luzerne County (mostly), Pennsylvania Ancestors

Most of my ancestors came from Dorrance, Hollenback, Hanover and Newport Townships in Luzerne County, PA. I have over 260 surnames.

For many, many important and private reasons, I haven't really done much research for the past ten years. This summer of 2005, I am taking a break in my studies for my Master's degree and picking up this hobby that I've almost forgotten how to do! Please bear with me as I relearn a few things.

This is one of my brick walls:

I am researching the ECKROTE family in PA. Daniel ECKROTE was born ca. 1808 and Lydia BITTENBENDER was b. 22 JAN 1809. They m. about 1830 and had eleven children: Ella m. Jonas HELLER; Joseph m. Messianna HOTTENSTEIN; Catherine; Stephen m. Lovina BUCHMAN; Jacob; Maria; Moses; Nathan; Mary m. George BUCHMAN; Lydia; and Aaron m. Amanda KNELLY. They resided in Luzerne County, PA, mostly in Dorrance, Nescopeck, Conyngham, and Hobbie Townships. I am particulary interested in proof of Daniel's parents. I am very willing to share information.
