| I am researching the William Horton of Rutherford County, NC, born 1766, died 1829 near Sunshine, NC. and was buried in the Glover/Horton Cemetery in Rutherford County, NC. along with his wife, Margaret Moore. His son, George Washington Horton migrated to Southeast Georgia in 1832 via Spartenburg S. C. and settled down, after his marriage to Appy Howard, in 1839 in Brunswick, Ga., in the small town of Gardi, Wayne County, Georgia, where they raised a large family. George Washington Horton was one of the early postmen to deliver mail in southeast Georgia to northwest Florida. I would like to thank my family, my extended family and new found families for all the information they have shared with me in this marvelous undertaking of researching the Horton family. If at any time you find errors in the writings, please contact me. e-mail address: stell410@vol.com Enjoy, it has been our pleasure in our research. FAMILY IS A BRIDGE ACROSS GENERATIONS... THEY ARE THE KEEPERS OF PRECIOUS MEMORIES AND TRADITIONS. |
