Notes for Marcie Gladys Robertson: Marcie lived on a century farm in Coloma, MO. When David and I visited her before her 90th birthday we made a video of her. We also made one on her 90th birthday. We made an earlier video of her with Laila Miles Babb, a double cousin. Laila and Marcie talked about the sites where relatives lived, old schools and churches. In her home Marcie had many charming items that had wonderful stories. David and I were guests that were privileged to sleep in the bed that was made extra long for Maben. I think the bed was one made shortly after they were married. Her home had been in Maben's family for a long time. Maben and Marcie lived south of Coloma in different locations. They moved to the farm in 1946. Marcie and Laila identified most of the family in a 1914 reunion photo. Marcie kept a genealogy on the family that she shared with Laila and daughter, Beverly. Others also visited Marcie to get information about the family in MO. written by Beverly Horttor Lucille shared that her mother, Marcie, liked to sew, can and farm. She drove the tractor and checked cattle. She was a member of the Coloma Baptist Church where her son, Bruce, is pastor and in Feb of 1999 he had been pastor since he was 16. Marcie's was the first funeral in the new church Sept 1997. |

Notes for Maben Miles Trussell: Maben went to Coloma Grade School. He farmed in the Coloma area most of his life. He worked on a sheep ranch in Montana for 18 months, about 1935-37. Maben drove school bus for 20 years. When he retired he was presented an appreciation award. He also received Distinguished Future Farmer award and Century Farm. He bought the Trussell home place that was in the family for over a hundred years. He liked to hunt and served several years as trustee of Coloma Baptist Church. Maben also liked to work with wood. |

Notes for Helen Marguerite Robertson: Helen is a homemaker. In 1995 she moved to Independence, MO, to an apartment. As a girl she liked to swing and play with Frances Miles. They were together every day (almost). She remembers her Grandmother Robertson living with them. As a teen ager Helen liked school activities. She taught 2 years in the country school at Coloma. She was a cheer leader in school. Her favorite subject was ancient history. Helen met Arthur in Tina. They went together a little over a year before they got married. Marcie was in Montana when they got married in Keyetsville. They moved to a 240 acre farm they owned with Arthur's brother. After 5 years they moved to South Missouri. Helen has made several quilts and crocheted many items. Joyce and Luella both crochet. In 1999 Helen is living in Independence Towers, Independence, MO. Bob is living in Rosewood Health Center. |

Notes for Arthur B. Williams: Arthur went to school at a country school in Lyndon, MO, (Bosworth) He worked at Vendo and later was a carpenter at the Stock Yards in Kansas City. He was home after having teeth pulled in 1951 when the Stock Yards was flooded. People scrambled to get out. He went to Westinghouse and worked there as a machinist. When Westinghouse closed he went to work for Bendix until he retired in 1972. Arthur liked yard work and camping and the out of doors. |
