George and Rebecca (Rhoads)Seese are my Great Grandparents. There is a story that I canNOT confirm concerning an Native Indian massacre that involved 2 or 3 Seese children taken by the Indians. The children were later brought back to Somerset County Pennsylvania after being rescued....supposedly there raised by a family surname of Hitechew.
I am struggling with finding Rebecca's lineage. Her father was Rhinard Rhoads from Salix, Cambria Co, PA. He was born in 1833 and married Eva Paul. I find lineage for Eva but I can find no other information regarding him.
My Grandfather Orlando (son of Rebecca and George) lived in a town named Seesetown between Sidman and Dunlo in Cambria County, PA.
