This page gives info about the family tree from John Greygoose of Takely, Essex England from the 1640's down through the Greys of North London from 1880's to the current generation of Greys and Horgans.

The tree originates with John Greygoose who married Elizabeth in Takely Parish Church, date unknown but between 1640 and 1664.
They had one son (at least) named Jonas b. 1664 d. 1728. He married Elizabeth Eley ? who d. 1736

They had min 5 children of whom William b. 1703 d. 1776. married Elizabeth d. 1783.

Their son Thomas b.1741 d. 1825 who married 1773 Anne Lindsell 1753-1837.

Their son John 1783-1841 married Sarah Bird 1785-1857.

Their son John married (1) Mary Griggs 1807-1835 (2) Frances Stock 1814-1865 (3) Mary Prior

John and Frances Stock had a son Charles John 1856-1930. Charles John is my Great-grandfather.

Some time between 1856 and 1883 he (and his family?) moved to north London where he married Sarah Fuller in Edmonton Parish Church on 5th August 1883. By this time the family seem to have dropped the !goose! and were known as Grey. Their son William Henry Grey 1902-1974 married Margaret A Smith in north London. Their daughter Lilian Joan Grey married Patrick Horgan from Cork Ireland. These are my parents!
